Energy Saving Tips for Winter

Change your furnace filters – Yes. Just like you do throughout the summer, change the filter at regular intervals.

Run your ceiling fans in reverse – Switching to clockwise rotation will recirculate the warm air stuck at the top of the room.

Dodge the drafts – Drafts can waste 5 to 30 percent of your energy use. Start simple and install a draft snake at the bottom of the door, or you can easily make one yourself using plumbing insulation.
Winterize you’re A/C and water lines – Drain any hoses and air conditioner pipes, and make sure you don’t have excess water pooled in equipment.

Tune-up your heater – Keeping your furnace clean, lubricated and properly adjusted will reduce energy use.

Invest in a programmable thermostat – It’s easy to forget to turn down the heat when you leave the building, but doing so is one of the surest ways to save money.
