Zillow Digs has released which details of what’s in and what’s out for interior design in 2015. The annual report combines data from a survey of leading designers with an analysis of the most popular photos on the website. “Unexpected textures and an eclectic, modern vibe are about to find their way in 2015. Expect to see a more sophisticated look in 2015 that incorporates gold hardware, natural textures, and a subtle midcentury modern undertone.” Zillow Digs design expert Kerrie Kelly. We took a look at these trends to find them in some of our current listings. Mid-Century Modern – one of the biggest up-and-coming design styles for 2015 from architecture to furniture. Experts advise integrating modern elements sparingly, because you don’t want them taking over the house. Eclectic, multi-era decor is here to stay, and matchy-matchy furniture is a thing of the past.

The Family Room at 915 W. Colorado incorporates rich blues with rug and accent chair.

Blue – especially indigo, Greek blues, and navy shades are predicted to be the most popular accent hue, in particular because it complements warm earth tones like 2015 Pantone Color of the Year Marsala. Blue replaces brights such as coral and purple which are on their way out with 2014.

Wallpaper – Consider digital prints or textured wall coverings instead of a solid painted accent wall. Designers say we should expect to see a rise in available color and texture selections in home stores to accommodate the increased demand. Experts advise avoiding chevron, one of the most popular patterns of 2013 & 2014.
